About CL Performance
What is CL Performance?
CL Performance was created to enhance player development by providing resources, education, and services. It first started in 2020 as a working concept while we were trying to find ways to stay connected with our players during lockdown. Over the past few years, innovations in distance learning have made it possible to expand it from a concept into something that has been able to bring value to many coaches, analysts and ultimately players. Our performance cycle is adapted from Kolb's Experiential Learning Cycle, and it provides a structure to enhance player development by refining all phases of it. At CL Performance, we focus on impacting this cycle by positively influencing the process through analysis, coaching and technology. We are constantly working to bring you more valuable content and free resources to help you improve your coaching and analysis by leveraging our own experiences and knowledge in addition to exploring way to bring additional collaborators to the platform.

We believe the primary goal of any coach or analyst should be to multiply opportunities for their players to experience the performance cycle. Simple things go far with youth development. With younger players, asking for quick self-reflections on an activity or even a phase of play is a great way to create more performance cycles while combating attention spans. As players get older and naturally more competitive, player development can also be enhanced by stretching the Review, Adapt, and Plan phases. I think we're all guilty of focusing our resources on the Perform phase, but the reality is that players are at their capacity during this time. The real growth comes from what we can help them take away from their performance. This is why we focus on the impact that analysis, coaching, and technology can have on Reviewing, Adapting, and Planning. If you are interested in learning more feel free to get in contact.

About Me
About Me
My journey into coaching soccer began in 2010 while I was still a player. During that time I was fortunate enough to have many exceptional coaches, teammates, and mentors play pivotal roles in my development. I found a lot of enjoyment in taking what I had learned and passing it on to other players. Through the year, I found time before or after training to work with our reserve team's goalkeepers, and I assisted at my former high school during the summer months. These brief stints shifted my focus from a dream of playing professional sport to a rewarding profession that has allowed me to have an impact on many people.
In 2015, I took my first college coaching job and quickly embraced the expectations that came with it. With some great guidance, I was able to draw on my past experience with soccer and away from it to start to developing into the coach I am today. Someone who is adaptable and utilizes my entire skillset to develop players. On the pitch, I strive to create a dynamic and challenging environment where players can push their ability to the next level. While training resembles a highly competitive, demanding, and match-like environment on the surface, it is equally supportive underneath. Off the pitch, my background in data and technology allows me to analyze performance and provide comprehensive feedback in a variety of ways. In my spare time, I am building a collaborative blog that will focus on providing insight into some performance analysis methods and provide value for aspiring coaches and analysts through guides and best practices.
Away from the sport, I enjoy taking on a variety of other challenges. I have worked on several logo, branding and web development projects, social media graphics, video editing projects, motion graphics, and a wide range of personal projects. I also enjoy working with my hands on home renovation projects, and enjoy the physical challenge of road cycling.
